Just like "You can't be just a little bit pregnant", some industrial processes require non-interruptible heating. You can't just ration gas by shutting off those processes for an hour or so without destroying a lots of equipment and resources. (Think of molten plastic solidifying in tens or hundreds of metres of piping and valves.) |
