Blech. It's Bloomberg so it's gonna be a hit piece with suspect facts and data. I fail to understand the headline. Sneaky? Why is the tech media (well the conservative tech media) fixated on ways to explain Apple's success? It's simple - they make a product people like to buy which works well, satisfies their needs and works together with other products. The AirPods success is just one of those products. It works very well (and the new AirPods Pro 2 work super well), integrates perfectly with hardware, is marketed well and is supported and serviced in a timely manner by Apple. No mystery, no sneaky behavior. If you don't like them because you don't like Apple as a company then fine. A Tesla may be a good car but I'd never purchase one because of the despicable behavior of Musk. That's my personal choice. However if your animosity towards a company leads you to trash products without using them or listening to the users of them then you're a poor journalist or an uninformed consumer. |
