After reading this message I want you to write an email to say that you quit effective immediately. Never talk to these people again, it's important that you cut these unproductive, mentally draining relationships as soon as possible.

If you don't do it as soon as you can it will take a mental toll on you (self-esteem issues e.g. how could I be so gullible etc...) In a sense you already know, but you are still lingering for the very low probability of high return, equivalent to betting prime Tyson losing against Hasbulla, it could technically happen but it will not. As a non-throwaway account I completely agree. These founders are thinking of what's good for them, even if it screws you over. It's time to take what you learned as an intern and head for the exit.
