We just had our first. Take your paternity if you have it. I felt that weight and a bit of burnout before the baby came and paternity was the first time I'd fully unplugged in years. Even though that time was a whirlwind it really helped my mental health and I came back to work feeling pretty good. Some other people have suggested using paternity to look for jobs or do side work. I would say don't do this. Just enjoy and soak in that time. Recharge and be ready to hit the ground running when you come back. I did spend some time learning some new stuff while I was taking night shift with the baby and couldn't sleep myself, but that's just because I enjoy that. You should do whatever you enjoy in those moments.
