Correct. I think the difference is just NFC. If you want to power your key via NFC (tap to phone to authenticate), you need a micro which consumes very little, powers up quickly and can do a signature before the FIDO protocol times out. I'm not sure this is currently possible with a FPGA, but maybe it is. |
