Gridcoin rewarded seti@home when seti@home was operating and still rewards a number of other BOINC projects. It is proof of stake based and the rewards are layered on top. There is a similar cryptocurrency called curecoin for folding@home although I think they do use SHA-256 mining (i.e not useful computations) for part of the rewards |
