How suitable is Blender for CAD tasks? And if Blender isn't suitable today, how difficult would it be to make CAD features some kind of addon?

There’s CAD Sketcher, an add on for Blender that is trying to do exactly that. Can’t comment on whether it succeeds as I’ve never used it.
