> Even a 3 mile bike ride at that point means you're drenched in sweat, which is just not acceptable in a majority of environments. First, how much you sweat depends on (a) how out of shape you are. After a couple of weeks your fitness level will improve and you'll sweat less/not-at-all. As well as (b) how hard you pedal. I used to pedal hard on my cycling commute to work in the Before Times, and did arrive sweaty, but that was I wanted the cardio. I simply wore the funny-looking clothing and changed at work. No, I didn't stink: I took a shower at home beforehand, which reduced the bacteria on my body, and so it was fine. Sweat does not stink (it's just salt water), but bacteria stinks. But if I pedalled at a leisurely pace, then I hardly sweat at all. Pedalling effort can also be reduced by pedal-assist e-bikes. |
