Meanwhile the elites of the world are keep buying up waterfront properties. Weird! By this logic, you'd see the elites buying up real-estate in places deeper inland.

Another thing to note, is that there are billions of dollars going into new commercial properties which are meant to be around decades. Why would any financial entity finance/insure such a project if all the projections show the project to be doomed?

These predictions get made every few years. The target date just keeps changing so that it's always far enough away to seem plausible and near enough to seem scary.

Meanwhile there are photos all over the place of waterfronts that are supposedly at risk with a photo from 100+ years ago and a photo from today with no visible difference.

Maybe water levels will rise materially someday. It could happen. But these predictions have always been nothing but propaganda. (It's not an accident that the article here is in "politicopro")
