I feel like now, even though there may be varying levels of compatibility/capability, at least more devices physically plug into the same cables with at least basic functionality. IMO it's better than having different physical ports that are completely incompatible. Additionally, I've never had any problems with USB-C cables physically failing without extensive abuse. I cannot say the same for on-brand Apple charging cables. |
