It is the core issue. The importance of TSMC has been vastly exaggerated. In case of war their factories would be destroyed anyway. Remove TSMC and the importance of Taiwan remains exactly the same. If the USA doesn't protect Taiwan it'll be their Suez canal moment. The moment the British and the French realized they were not great powers anymore. |
