So what exactly is the use of GPUs like A100 apart from in mining cryptocurrencies ? Also isn't mining cryptos banned in China? Am I missing something?

The A100 isn’t a miner. It trains machine learning models. It’s being replaced by the H100 shortly, which is part of the ban, too.
