I'm impressesed by the initial performance numbers, the price, PCIe 5.0, Having 8 lanes to the PCH instead of 4, 10gbe on most motherboards. It's good that AMD is continueing the trend where users don't have to upgrade their motherboards every generation. The main catch is DDR5 being expensive and compatability issues with four DIMMS[0]/ teething issues. (Personally, I wish AMD released a 5900X/ 5950X with 3D V-Cache. The 5800X3D is nice, but I also need cores.) [0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu9U7TVNImI |
