I'm curious where the evidence for the headline is? I clicked the link but I just see some forum posts about the app not being in the App Store.

Are all the comments on this thread just people commenting based off the headline?

no, observe that the latest post in that thread is Aug 25 <https://1password.community/discussion/comment/653739/#Comme...> but if one clicks on the "Topics > Mac" header to go back to the threads list <https://1password.community/categories/1password-for-mac> it does not show up alongside the other Aug 25 updates (command-f for "Apple" or "App Store")

The thread does show up in the search results, but if one were interested in seeing a thread with 6 pages worth of replies, and untold number of views, in order to know that topic is ... receiving a lot of attention ... then you'd have to come to HN :-)
