> prosumer 10G switches are vastly more expensive per-port They are, but they aren't out of reach - i recently bought 2 Zyxel managed switches with 3x 2.5/5/10G and one SFP+ ports alongside 8x 1G ports for 200€ each. That's not cheap, but it's not super expensive either, and most consumers can get away with unmanaged switches. The unmanaged version has 2x2.5 and 2xSFP+ and comes for 120€. So we're getting there in terms of availability. |
