you are off by an a factor of 3-5 :). The random consumer ssd reads/writes as 300-600megabytes/second, easily.
That's 3-5gbps, not 1gbps. A reasonable 7200rpm spinning disk can easily saturate 1gbps. Most home grade nas RAID arrays can saturate 10gbps.
(obviously not 2 spinning disk mirror ones :P) |
