They spent $27M to build 209 houses. That’s $245k/house and odd that their construction costs are so high.

This seems like a charity with a good idea but poor cost efficiency.

On the face of it, $27M/209 is approximately $130k and not $245k. Am I missing something?
GP had a typo, it's 109 houses.
Yes, that’s correct. The article says they built 109 homes, I just mistyped 209.
I can't find any blurb anywhere informing how much the land was acquired for, and is that in the $27M or not.
Keep in mind cities like sf and SD pay a million plus for an apartment not a house.
