why such strong preference for postgres? (i could list a number of typical reasons but just curious why “thank god” such strong emotional response)

I'll be honest, at this point i have no idea why I like postgres more than mysql, but I have a feeling there's a good reason for that and I don't really want to re-learn why.

ok, the honesty is fine by me. just wanted to see in case there was something there.

usual answer is devs love postgres for the feature set and ecosystem, sysadmins love mysql for the simplicity.
