It seems to me that this whole issue is fairly simple: does the blockchain technology solve any real-world problem that people have?
A mere analysis of its logic says it does not, actually, solve any meaningful problem whatsoever. Secure transactions are already feasible, it doesn't prevent mischief and the way to settle a dispute is always the same (through the legal system) and decentralization prevents it from scaling. C.
