The pool of revenue is still small: Since the creation of the app store in July 2008 to July this year, Apple has paid out $2.5 billion to developers and my projected payout for 2011 is $1.995B. Even so, competition is fierce. In May this year there were 85,560 unique developers writing apps for the store. Having said that, gold rushes are how big cities are built. |
