The moment I grew enough of a brain to rationalize my way out of a toxic, fear-based religion, that's exactly what I did. And for a long time, I was aspiritual. I've since rekindled my relationship with my spirituality, but I only believe things on my own terms. The fear of burning in a pit of fire for all eternity never sparked joy for me. |
