> Sadly, most tech folks don't vote or have zero interest in local politics. It's more that transient populations usually don't bother. If your plan is to move to an area for 4-6 years in order to bootstrap a career, earn some money, build a resume and reputation, and then move out to somewhere lower-cost, then you're not going to see the need to get involved in local politics or even vote. |
