I wonder how many others repos have over 100k issues. From a quick search it seems Linux does too.

Seems like a vanity metric more than anything.

How old is a project? Do they use issues for support and pebkac errors? Are they shipping without testing enough? Did they choose a monorepo? Is the project a large code base? Do the close issues and open new ones frequently? Do you use issues for copy and website edits?

These are all things I've seen other projects for, not sure which rust does...

Go has half that, but by several measures is more popular
