When you decide that hiring good people is actually a hard problem the most obvious solution is to stop trying, and just accept some bad hires in the org temporarily that you'll let go in the next round of cuts if they don't work out. This actually works out fairly well for everyone - some people get hired and stay because they're good, some get hired and then dropped but they earn well and get a big name on their resume for their time, and the company eventually builds a stronger team. |
