i live in a country where child abductions do happen. they are rare, so that doesn't turn me into a helicopter parent that wouldn't let their kids out of their sight, although may other parents here do just that, but if they are not where i expect them to be, then i'll silently panic. i am aware of good samaritan laws. but protecting children from danger is one thing. removing them from a location where i expect them to be is quite another. there would have to be some obvious danger that wasn't there previously for that to be ok. (like a fire, or even just heavy rain and no nearby shelter) i don't care what the legal term for this is. i care what effect the action has on the people involved. before you take children away from somewhere, think about that, and try to find a way to protect the children without moving them unless you can inform the parents or authorities. |
