> At some point along the continuum, there will simply not be enough new work to make up for the efficiency gains by the AI models. I don't buy that devs are going to run out of things to do. Instead I see this increasing the leverage of engineers (who are really just creative problem solvers) such that an exponentially increasing number of lower value problems will make financial sense to solve with engineers. I think we'll see the same thing with designers and all different kinds of tech workers. Pay will increase, not decrease (at least globally) because business people don't have the training to work these levers or judge the quality of the output. |
