The huge problem in many US states is that nothing is well defined in family courts. Virtually all answers from lawyers is “court can do anything”. For example, there is a good definition of separate property but it still doesn’t mean that court isn’t going to dip into that to give more assets to opposing party. Except for few US states, there is no real law except some hand wavy guidelines like “need and ability” for community division and maintenance. I don’t know why law makers don’t get their shit together and make things predictable. Apps like this is good start to get neutral picture. |
