Oh you don't need to press play. Simply speak into the microphone and you can hear the audio being played back immediately.

Note that this example doesn't work on iOS in particular. If you are on mobile, try on Chrome or Edge browsers on Desktop.

Ah - I thought I was being clever and avoiding feedback by turning my speaker down while I was recording, but that apparently made me miss the show. Too used to start/stop for recording, apparently.
