As I work mostly on MSSQL Server, the sweet spot for me is SSMS with RedGate SQL Prompt.

For non-MSSQL things, it's usually DBeaver.

No need for a new IDE for me.

DBeaver is my go-to for anything that it supports (PostgreSQL, mainly). It's glorious.
