First thing is that it doesn’t sound like you have a common goal. If Maverick’s goal is “build the coolest thing” and Copy-Paster’s goal is “generate code as quickly as possible”, you need to find a way to generate a shared understanding of what you are doing as a team. That could take the form of a set of principles, a set of metrics, or a cool team name. Somehow, you need to focus the team on a higher level goal than the fragmented set you have now.
You also need to find someone who the Maverick respects. If it’s not you, is it your boss or a senior dev in another team? |
