You're arguing against something different than what you replied to – it's not necessarily that their wealth rules out their morals, message, or wisdom, it's that their wealth rules out their ability to frame themselves as not part of the "elite."

Again, for me this would be like hearing a person of lower income describe the opinion of a group within their own economic status - say, a religious sect - whom they disagree with, and immediately downplaying it because they’re both poor.
