Can you ship a router for cheaper? I'd be interested in hearing about your logistics setup.

I suspect the more salient point is that a 5$ router that you can't get for less than 18$ is not a 5$ router.
I get that, but moving an object from a warehouse to your home isn't free.

The router itself costs $5.

I added another product to my cart and the shipping charge went away; the line price for this router is still $5.

So, yes, it is a $5 router.

Well that's not a valid point. The router is $5. The shipping is $13.
You're an eBay seller's dream customer.
No, I'm aware it's still going to be $18. But you wouldn't try to argue about the point if you ordered on Amazon or whatever and picked multiple items and the shipping was still $13 lol.
I've got a brand new Tesla for sale for $50, would you like it? Shipping is $600k
Well I have a router for sale that costs only $2!

* shipping is $20

How much is the VAT?
In the US, VAT doesn't happen
In the US many people evade paying sales tax
TCO is a thing.
Wait, is shipping that expensive in the US? As an individual in Germany I pay 5,50€ for DHL (2kg, tracking, insurance up to 500€). As a business customer it's even cheaper.
Could it be the case that the US is ~30x larger than Germany?
