This is like Poe's law for, well laws. It reads like a parody, intentionally written to make people who would support it look bad. I have to hope that even in America, where banning municipal fibre and WiFi is a thing, that this is a step too far. |

NC is a very dysfunctional state. Most of the population is educated, progressive and lives in urban areas. Due to gerrymandering, the less populated, rural areas have a disproportionally larger say in state government.
Many will likely support this type of bill (it's not the first time ignorance was drafted as a bill) and there is even a (small) chance of it becoming a law. For another example of how some have protested EVs, search for "rolling coal".
