i've started telling the horde of recruiters exactly why i don't want to take a side job studying for their interviews for a slight chance to work somewhere that is reportedly bad to work at - maybe if enough people say something to enough of them they'll trickle it upwards.

that's a good pipe dream, but one can hope.
