What's the startup that you liked the most that had to shut down?

We all know that sometimes having a good idea/service/product is not enough to make a successful business.

Sometimes businesses have to shut down due to not having enough users to cover their costs and sometimes (probably the saddest) when they get acquired by a company that just wants the talent and they shut down products.

I'm curious to hear about the ideas/products/services that people like the most but had to shut down and if there are any stories on why they shut down...

If there are enough people that loved such ideas/products/services, it might be worth it for someone else to reconsider, and having this strong and active community seemed like the right place to ask.

One of the ideas/products I liked the most was the multiple-cards in one (meaning that you can store multiple credit card accounts or even debit cards, into one plastic, this way you only carry one).

There was a company called Coin doing this in the US but they shut down. https://www.macrumors.com/2017/02/01/coin-shutdown-services-...

A company called Curve is doing this in Europe and seems to be doing quite well. (~$200M valuation). Unfortunately, it is not available in the US.

While many people might say that you don't need plastic if you have your phone and use Apple pay, maybe I am old school, but I still would love to have just one plastic (or metal since nowadays that's the cool thing) carrying all my cards.

And many EU people want something like Privacy.com where you don’t have to use your legal name for NSFW purchases. It’s a US only gig unfortunately.
