The complaint is more about the general direction that the web is taking.

It's all well and good saying "just don't use X website", but most news sites have plenty of features that are either annoying or outright disrespectful to the user.

That aside though, somebody who likes articles published by CNN has good reason to complain, because the things they like are being filled with bloat/are annoying to access.
