The key thing to remember in any "x is dead" meme is that all it means is "this isn't the new and shiny anymore". Ruby is as good as it ever was, it's just not shiny anymore. And god, I remember the shiny. I remember when Ruby on Rails came in the scene, and the whole fuss about Basecamp and how influential 37Signals seemed to be back then. Time flies. |
