Since the ways in which software development sucks are not that far up the scale of sucking and supporting Kubernetes is charitable contributions to Google, maybe start elsewhere by donating toward alleviating mortal problems like hunger and disease?

The question is are you investing in yourself (no matter how round about) or alleviating true misery?

Good luck.

Yes, I am totally investing in myself and maybe I am "solving mortal problems" too but that's besides the point. Donating to stuff you depend on isn't an altruistic act and I am sorry if I made it sound like that. You do make a good point about Kubernetes and Google, and yes I intent not to donate to projects already backed by big money because that's pretty pointless. So, what are projects great projects / organisation so support instead?
