The most important thing: tell it straight to the people who are affected FIRST (either as a group session or 121, doesn't really matter), and only THEN tell the rest of the company.
This happened to me once (even though I wanted to leave, just not so fast...), and my boss called me the day before to give me a warning. This was a nice gesture and I really appreciated it. |
