Not only that, but Volvo is procuring their batteries in China and the footprint for battery production is deeply impacted by the carbon intensity of the grid where it is produced. So using a Volvo is already close to a worst case for the battery production. Any reduction in this can have a big effect. The EV here is 10.7tons more intensive to build, and the battery counts for 7 tons. |
