I have a quite kiss solution for this I gess It is a low level / harware solution that should solve th issue : a plug timer (

Trades one problem for another. Now you are cycling the battery frequently which is going to do the same thing in the end.

As I understand it it's better to just leave the battery plugged in and floating.
