These emerging Ethernet standards are cost effective upgrades for large industrial objects like warehouses and monstrous vehicles. You may have an unused phone line or just some reserved pins in a connector, and the cable runs a quarter mile to the other end of “this”. The existing solution is working, albeit inconvenient, and it will be nice to be able to just add Ethernet telemetry or control to it. That’s where these shine. |
