The most important lesson I ever learned, and it was due to the biggest mistakes of my life: Don't expect that what you are suffering from today to be constant forever. Essentially, "This too shall pass". All things ebb and flow. I was lucky, in a sense, to be bitten by this rather earlier than late. But it's relevant here just as much. So while you aren't wrong in fact, you're wrong temporally, and in degree. Man, there's COBOL programmers still making more than decent bread to this day. Technology stacks change over time. Problem solving techniques don't. Take a deep breath, continue to focus on what you are good at, and don't worry. What you think is a 5 year horizon is more likely 50 years, and so on. |
