When I'm in clamshell mode, I love having an external trackpad. I used to have a trackball mouse which was decent enough - it's just that it was a pain when working in Adobe products & Figma and wanted gestures. I see no need to go back to a regular mouse or use anything else. Personally, I haven't noticed any fatigue. I also do have tap to click mode on which I feel helps. |
