I chose GitHub many years ago not because they were social but because they were free and accessible. The competitors at the time were sourceforge and Google code and neither of them were as easy to use or simple. I use GitHub in spite of its dumb social features, not because of it. This reminds me of the “if you don’t love guns, why do you live in America, gtfo” people are complicated and have multiple, sometimes conflicting, motivations. |
