I just moved to Toronto from Vancouver. The pay gap between Canada and US is closing. I got FAANG salary about 20% less than my US coworkers after conversion. However, I think I may still consider moving to the US in the future to have the opportunity to explore other cities. As well as save more to afford housing here in Canada.

did you move for the opportunity you got in particular, for a generally bigger market, or for a completely different reason? To me it seems like both Vancouver and Toronto now have a fair amount of opportunities
I probably could have done remote. I decided it was a good opportunity to get a free move and explore a new city.

So far I like it. More city, less nature than Vancouver.

As I side note anyone know any tech related events to attend in Toronto? Would like to be more involved with hackathons and entrepreneurship communities.

I'm actually located in Vancouver, and asked out of pure curiosity what made you move. Just wanting to experience a new city is definitely a good enough reason. In wondered for myself whether I should checkout out the east coast - but there's definitely a lot of things that in Vancouver that I enjoy (smaller city, biking opportunities).
