Readings on History of Unix?

Looking for some reading material about the early history of systems and computing such as on the origins of Unix.

A long while ago, I once had the fortune to exchange emails with Dennis Richie. He was a wonderful man, extremely helpful and kind.

I'm actually creating a Unix/GNU/POSIX/Linux timeline for young folks at $JOB. Might post here later.

I've found younger devs / sysadmins struggle hard due lack of context. Most systems work as they do today for historical, not technical reasons.

Doesn't quite fit, but it's a classic and takes place in the UNIX world of the 80s: The Cuckoo's Egg by Clifford Stoll
