Since we have threads for who is hiring and who is looking for a job, I thought it might be interesting to find out which companies are doing mass firings and lay offs.

Shouldn't there be a corresponding monthly discussion: "Ask HN: Who wants to be fired / laid off? (June 2022)"
Where's Fucked Company when you need it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fucked_Company

NB: Do not navigate to fuckedcompany dot com, it's squatted.

This is the second time I've seen this today. I looks very covid centric, like it was build to track a wave of job cuts starting in 2020. It doesn't appear to easily capture the current downturn

Based on what? I think it’s manually updated but it seems very comprehensive after a few days of latency.

I haven't heard of any layoffs in Boston, but some headcount freezes for the time being. I get the sense that most folks are taking a wait and see approach. Layoffs seems a bit aggressive right now, closer to Q4 who knows...
A hiring freeze w/out backfilling attrition can accomplish a similar goal as well.
A couple smaller startups had downrounds recently. VC raises are not coming easily.
Almost all Indian edutech companies are firing, Byjus, Unachedamy, vedantu
Good. Absolute garbage companies exploiting vulnerable middle class people and ruining childrens lives.
Wow, I haven't heard of these companies or practices. What do they do?
