there's a lot of value. A chunk of text is in many ways much easier to deal with then a bunch of fields in a form. Changing the order of items is trivial, you can copy and paste stuff, it's easy to email the whole thing to someone for review (say, before publishing)... That's for the typical user. For geeks there's more: it's easy to keep archives of old versions, easy to see what's changed, trivial to backup... text IS powerful. |
