Your brain is wired deep down where you cannot change it to measure a feeling of safety at the level of a village. The news takes the worst things happening from ALL the villages and shows it to you because clicks. Your subconscious concludes that the village is always on fire/etc.

The solution is you must find ways not to look at news.

For me:

1. Blocking via my hosts file

2. Telling myself that HN is enough- if it doesn’t make HN then it wasn’t bad enough.
